2019-2020
Along with dumps I've found
scattered everywhere throughout the city,
there are portraits of my friends’ children.
Discarded toys trace a direction
toward the inevitable disaster
we are imposing on the generations of tomorrow.
This is the present of their future.

I spent almost three years photographing the degradation and the waste emergency in Reggio Calabria, my hometown. This is the first of two projects that came out  from my research.
T
he original concept was supposed to be an open-air exhibition in the most exclusive and busiest street of the city but I was unable to get either permission or support from the municipality.
It's always more appropriate to look the other way.
